Hypoallergenic?
Siberian cats have been found to carry a very low level of Feline d1 protein (Fel-d1). This is a protein that has been identified to be specific to cats and it is suggested that those people who are allergic only to cats are likely sensitive to this protein.
Not all Siberians have the same low level of Fel-d1 and therefore people may react to some Siberian cats and not others.
Our cats are from low allergen parents. They have not produced any allergic symptoms in family or visitors with known severe cat allergies.
